Germantown Chamber Logo

The Chamber is partnering with the Germantown Area Chamber in tackling the workforce shortage head-on through the Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo. This initiative aims to build a pipeline for future talent by engaging high school and middle school students early on, sparking interest in the manufacturing and trade industries. By introducing young minds to these careers, The Chamber is working to close the skills gap and ensure a robust workforce for the future.

This year's Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo, Presented by Nicolet Plastics, will take place on October 16th and 17th at the Washington County Fair Grounds, and there is still time for our valued Manufacturing and Trade partners to join us in advancing this important cause!

Since the expo’s beginning in 2009, we have welcomed over 12,000 students, educators and parents to the Expo. With your support and in coordination with the Menomonee Falls, Hamilton and Germantown School Districts, and area technical colleges, we anticipate participation of over 1100 students in 2024!  Invitations to attend are sent to every school district in Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee and Milwaukee Counties, including several local home school organizations, but any district is welcome to attend at no cost!

Join us Wednesday, October 16th & Thursday, October 17th for the 2024 Manufacturing & Trade Career Expo!

MANUFACTURING & TRADE PARTNERS

The MTCE audience is comprised primarily of diverse high school and middle school students from all over the Southeastern Wisconsin region, as well as parents and educators.

We ask that all exhibitors provide a hands-on experience to help engage students in learning about your business and products.  If an interactive display doesn’t work, consider an experience that helps students connect with your brand.  Injecting fun into your display with a quick, fun game or hands on experience provides students positive cognitive association resulting in an increased likelihood to choose manufacturing or trades when choosing a future career path.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

It's FREE for schools to attend the MTCE - just let us know you're coming! If you are interested in having a school fieldtrip, more information coming out late summer 2024.

October 16, 2024 - 8:30AM - 12:00 PM

October 17, 2024 - 8:30AM - 12:00 PM

Note:  Every student that attends the MTCE is eligible for a post high school scholarship. Check out the scholarships here.

Scholarships:

To date, over $80,000 has been raised! Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the MTCE are dedicated to funding education scholarships. These funds, along with corporate MTCE scholarship contributions, are distributed to graduating seniors from each of the chamber partnership school districts. One goal of the MTCE is that high school scholarship recipients return after their education to one of our local manufacturing partners to begin their careers.

Please contact the Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce at 262-255-1812 or The Chamber of Greater Menomonee Falls & Sussex at 262-251-2430 for more information!
